Faster Than a Speeding Bullet

A movie camera has been developed for taking pictures of objects traveling at extremely high speeds.

If the camera—which takes 11,000,000 pictures a second—photographed a bullet traveling at the speed of 1,900 miles per hour, three minutes of normal-speed projection would be required to show just one foot of the bullet's travel.

Top Dog

The greatest racing dog in history was Mick the Miller, a greyhound owned by an Irish priest named Father Brophy. Mick flashed sensational speed on the English tracks, and the Father was offered $4,000 for the beast.

He accepted on condition that he receive the Derby purse if the dog won the classic. The Miller came through, winning $50,000.

In his three-year career on English soil, Mick never lost a race.

The Hindus of India are said to play more varieties of musical instruments than are found in all other countries combined.

The Hindus have several thousand instruments, for virtually all of their early instruments remain in use. In fact, their most popular instrument is still the seven-stringed vina, which was invented more than 1,200 years ago.

The loveable koala bear is a finicky eater. He'll touch nothing but eucalyptus leaves.
